Default Olive Lake Access

I'm planning on taking the family for some hiking, fishing, and gorgeous scenery. Does anyone know if Olive Lake is open or still snowed in? I can't seem to find a website that's close enough to there to figure it out. I'm planning on going in 2 weeks which is that first weekend of May. Thanks a bunch!

Even though it has been a relatively low snow year, Olive Lake is still going to be snowed in at least through mid-May...at the earliest. In a normal year, you'd be looking at early to mid June before it gets broken open...the first couple hundred yards off the 10 road is always the worst. You can try the NFJD Forest Service office in Ukiah for rough updates on where you can get. RR

I am going to be calling the NFJD Forrest Service office on Monday, but I was wondering if anyone had been poking around that area lately?

I just got back from over there. They got a bit of snow over the past few days. I didn't try to make it to the lake but I did make it to about 4700 ft elevation and ran into to much snow to continue. You might need to wait a couple of more weeks.
