Default Gulls? What gulls?

There was the BIGGEST cloud of sea gulls I've ever seen today at the mouth of the Lewis river. Literally thousands of the scungy little monsters feasting on smelt ... diving on them all over the Columbia, but gorging on them at the Lewis. Do they have a 20 pound limit, too?

Sea Gulls are a very efficient scavenger. While I realize they also eat live food, a great deal of their year-round diet consists of dead or dying things. Little white-winged garbage dudes. I can’t even imagine the literal stench that would be our world if we didn’t have the scavengers. Not a glamorous species, but thank God they exist (literally).

Remember the fast food place that used to advertise "Malibu Chicken"? Well I've been to Malibu a few times, and didn't see no chickens. But there were lots of gulls!? Coincidence?? I think not.
