Hey Mike, Got commitments later in the day or I would. Was hoping that by fishing the upper channel that it would not be "as" affected by the nets that are being dropped tomorrow in the C. river. Maybe I should just forget about the later commitments ( dinner party at a friends house)
I am sure my girlfriend wouldn't mind

Might even make a drift down the Wilson! Are you going to be on the C. river this weekend!
Tomorrow looks like too nice of a day not to be on a river somewhere!

Hi, Fishing freak-

Coupla guys trolling a coupla Magnum Wiggle Warts (one siver, one blue) took three springers from the channel a coupla days ago. Two were clippped.

They were longlining (no weight).

Just FYI ...

Thanks Sailcat, Never tried Mag warts in the channel. Might have to give it a try. Planned on trolling herring, prawns-pinners and possibly K-fish. Do you know what the advantages are to long lining as opposed to using a dropper? It looks like I will be out on the river friday and saturday. Not sure how the channel will be affected by the nets in the Columbia. Are you going to give it a whirl this weekend?

Trolled cut plug for 4 hours today around the "6" marker and up to santosh. Never heard or saw anything. Just a few boats around. Water is still off color.

Fished upstream end of Multnomah Channel yesterday, and under the power lines. I saw LOTS of springers on the fishfinder, but the water visibility was only a foot. Caught no fish in a couple of hours, but they are there...that is for sure. I'm going back when the water clears a bit.

Got a big stick lodged between the prop and cavitation plate on my Evinrude 25. The motor stopped immediately, and I could not remove the stick until I got the rig back on the trailer. The water was loaded with sticks and logs...be careful.

Fishing freak-

The only advantage of which I'm aware is getting the lure away from the boat.

Those Magnum Warts dive pretty deep and additional weight isn't really necessary on a long enough line, but I mentioned it for one reason ... it worked for them!

All the local reports are very poor for the lower channel and Columbia in the St. Helens area...at least according to my old retired pals that fish the weekdays. The 3 fish in one boat story, from last weekend, just keeps "refreshing" itself.

The Sand Island to Goat Island gillnetters are even having trouble straining out a fish. Don't understand the timing this season. By this time last year we had already put a few bunches of fish in the boat.

Might want to chase the native steelies for another week. I dunno...I just make coffee and go anyway!
