Default Phil Strader Showed Me A Couple of Fish Tricks

Phil showed me how to catch monster crappie with a 6" Swim Bait.

We also caught a bunch of these too.

Thanks again for the great day Phil, it was just what I needed. I will be talking to you soon and check your e-mail.

Hello Chet.

Cool post. Nice fish. Glad to see crappie will take swim baits. I have caught them on some of my biggest crank baits. Often wondered about why they will take a bait more than half their size.

Who is Phil? Is he a guide?

Looks like you guys were down in your childhood part of the world.

Once again. Great post and thanks for sharing.

Rich

Rich,
Yes this was down in my old stompping grounds. Phil is a friend and fishes the FLW tour. If you do a google you can see some of his success. I even left a few fish for him to catch I pretty much just tried to not make a fool out of myself. I haver never fished with anyone that can skip a jig like this man can. It showed me the importance of sharpening my skills. He caught fish that I never would have touched because I do not have the skill or accuracy to skip my bait under overhanging brush like he could. Always nice to be fish with someone who challenges you and sharpens your skills.
