Re: If you could throw one lure.......
no question in my mind. slam dunk question.
if you're in the rivers, it's a lucky craft LV500 in a chrome coloration.
(any heavy lipless crankbait in chromish will do).
this allows you to cover more water than any other bait by far.
it gets the attention of big fish too.
if you were to have another rod, it would be a tube bait in earth tones
on a 1/4 oz. internal jighead. these two baits catch 95% of my fish
between now and july.

I'm with td on this one.
Life or death situation, I'm chuckin a LV500 till my arm falls off. I would pay 20 bucks for them if I had to. Not to say that other lipless cranks are'nt good, I always carry a few different brands because it never hurts to try a few different sounds when things are slow but 90% of my most memorable days on the river wether it be for numbers or size a LV has been my partner in crime.....

Re: If you could throw one lure.......
There was a time when about one was all I had. Dang plugs were always expensive. My favorite then was a Creek Chub Darter. Haven't used it in years but still have it. Think I;ll drag it out this year. It's frog colored.
