Default social security beach

Everybody talks about fishing for springers up the columbia a ways but has anybody tried fishing the lower part like around social security beach for them, I would think they would be around there considering they have to pass through the lower part to get to the upper part

Clatsop Beach has produced some springers in the last number of years. But haven't seen anything yet this year. Gene

Gene, Has anyone been catching anything in Youngs Bay yet. I know that is usally open for the sportsman after the gill netters get there share.
Just wondering if the gill netters are getting anything either?

It's a little early for the bay. Late March-April seems to the best. Been to busy on our 43' Delta to keep up on the fishing, so most of what I hear is grapevine stuff.Gene

Another two to three weeks before there are good numbers at S.S. beach, but you should go now and start reporting back to the rest of us. We'll join you when bells start going off regularly.
