That's good to know. I plan to visit the Lewis tomorrow night. Are there still lots of fish down low under the I-5 bridge in Woodland or have they moved up higher? I understand there are fish all the way up to the hatchery hole...where were you guys?

Thanks,
DC

I was down at the mouth of the lewis today to see if anyone was catching salmon and the river was packed with smelt from the train bridge to the mouth. Nobody that I talked to had any luck with the salmon though.

Thaks strgnslyr. I have visited the area by boat only, and am unfamiliar with the dry terrain. I don't suppose you could give me some directions to the RR bridge?

Thanks strgnslyr! I've since heard that the lower Cowlets is still happening. So I'm thinking I'll try that with the boat, and use the Lewis as a fall back in the eve if I don't do well. Anyone else been on the lower Cowlets recently?

The lower Cowlitz is hot. Limits are fast right at the boat docks at Gearhart. And, last weekend, there was nobody there.

Good luck.

Might be smelt up that far but the steelhead bite is definitely slow. Very slow! Waiting for the springers to show.
