Default Newport Herring

We went to Newport this weekend for herring... both limited out in short order. Now sitting on about 100lbs of big fatties which will translate into
a stockpile of red meat in the upcoming months.

The ocean was very rough on Friday and Saturday, but layed out beeautifully by Sunday afternoon; took my little 18' rounabout
over the bar and out to sea with no problem; never even used the bigle pump. Monday it was FLAT, despite the NOAA reports of marginal conditions. As luck would have it
the herirng were GONE on Monday. Either they moved out or were scattered by dreging opperations the night before.
