If you have the time and money you can go to Clatsop C.C... or get the book--Get your captain's license by charley wing. $150/ 40 hr of teaching time or $45 for the book and learn at your own pace and at home. I got the book and am going to start as soon as I get some other issues out of the way. Congratulations on starting on the path!

Hawg Caller, congratulations,I did sctw classes there year before last. Seems like a solid program there to me. Fryar's maritime school in Vancouver has an excellent reputation also. Good luck on the tests when the time comes.
