Default Lower Columbia Springer Fishing

I'm headed to long beach to dig some clams in the evening but dont want to miss out on my salmon fishing. Whats the closest spot to go for Springers from long beach? I've just never heard much about springer fishing down there..

Will I need to drive back up to the Puget Island area (never fished that either) ...

Either way any advice would be greatly appreciated.

The closest option would probably be Cathlamet. Just look for the other boats anchored up on the outgoing when you hit the main channel. They'll be upstream and downstream of you. I think the nets went in yesterday so things will probably be slowing down.

Has anyone ever fished the buoy 10 area in March or April for Springers? Assuming the ocean lays down enough to make it comfortable.
