 Don't laugh I know I should know this, but what days can you dip. Can you dip from a boat at the Lewis or are they to deep. Are they at the Sandy yet? Does anybody think that the Sandy smelt are less desirable than Cowlitz? Caught a springer last year full of smelt. Do you guys think they eat alot of smelt

I think it is Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday.

I have heard spotty reports on the Lewis but friends of mine have been doing great at Gearhart Park on the Cowlitz, right at the boat launch.

Good luck.

My buds dipped Saturday evening and were getting a limit in about three to five dips.

They returned Sunday and had the same results. Most dips were bringing up as many as 25.

I got this from WDFW today:

Starting tomorrow (Wed. Feb. 27), all Washington Columbia River tribs will be open to fishing for smelt 7 days/week through
March 31. Hours remain 6 AM to 10 PM each day. However, the daily limit will be increased to 20 pounds. The Fishing Rule Change Notice should be out today.
