Default Trailer bunk covering

Any preferences on trailer bunk covering and were it might be available? I presently have two 2x6's ten feet long holding a 21' sled. Any help would be much appreciated.

joru,

I too am looking to replace my stringers on the trailer. I sopke to someone that recommended trex decking. It's a composit material in 2x4 and 2x6 used as an all weather decking. I would like to find some place that sells UHM?. I had it on my last trailer and liked it a lot.

Multi-craft Plastics in PDX. Very close to I-5 near Lloyd Center. They cut anything you want.

I thought this (uhmw) was good stuff too, then talked to guys who built my boat and was told that plastic is the biggest aluminum abbrasive out there. After a while you will see aluminim dust on those bunks. Eventually it will wear a hole in bottom of your boat. My boat bottom has two small thin spots where the composite decking was used as bunks. May want to do a little homework before you spend the money.

Try GI Joes I was in one of there stores and saw they had the carpet stuff to put on the bunks of your trailer. I think you can also order it from west marine.

keta,

My tricker trailer has 4 2x4x I'm thinking 10' bunks. I'm guessing 1/2" thick would be good.
