Those shad really do taste delicious! Thanks to Dwight (I believe that is who I spoke with) at Garibaldi Bait & Tackle for the information. He sure seems like a nice guy and I'm glad he goaded us in to coming down for some limits of the sweet meat.

It's amazing the metamorphis process in the life cycle of a shad.

You have to have the right conditions though. If you find the right conditions, you will know. Your dead shad will amazingly turn into live crab, and even an occaisional starfish!

Just drop your shad pot over board. Wait a while, and bring the shad up. It's kind of like cacoons and caterpillars turning into butterflies. This is the only way to get shad to hatch.

How many of those altered shad are in that cooler? I'll have to try that myself, always done much better in the Nehalem.

Oh man.....

I broke down a couple of weeks ago and HAD to have some good crab, so I hopped in the truck and drove to Florence and ate 'til I was sick.
