Default Power Pro bobber stop?

It's probably been talked about before, but I just bought 30# Power Pro line.

Can I use a bobber slip knot on the line for adjusting bobber depth?

Which bobber stop knot should I use for this stuff?

And, which knot is best for attaching reel filling mono to the Power Pro?

Thanks,

I use a nail knot for a Bobber stop, and a blood knot for joining mono and power pro. I usually only put a couple layers of mono on a reel before the power pro, since the power pro has a tendency to slip on the spool without it. Double up the power pro before trying the blood knot, (Makes it real entertaining :-)

The typical nail knot bobber stops work fine. When I spooled up my reel, I used 30# test also but since the diameter is like 6# test, I left quite a bit of mono on my spool for backing and then just put the whole 150 yards of Power Pro over the mono to fill the spool. Nice stuff, especially for float fishing.

I learned the hard way. Make sure you put on the backing or it will just slip off the spool. Buy the pr-tied bobber stops, there cheap and less of a headache.

John, gotta disagree. Regular 20 pound dacron in orange or fluorescent green makes a great bobber stop knot on Power Pro. Costs next to nothing. Just buy a little spool of 20 pound dacron at your fly shop and tie on with a blood or nail knot.

Another great way to put a bobber stop knot is to get one of Little Joe's Tiemaster tools. Very easy to tie and works great.

There is a link on ifish for tiemaster, check it out.

Good Luck
