Default CO Kokanee Class -- free camping, free stuff

There are a few seats left in the April 17 5-9pm session. PM eric71m to register.

Camping update: Brynne, from HooDoo, the campground operator for local USFS campgrounds, have me the following scoop today.

Link Creek Campground, west end of Suttle Lake, opens Saturday, April 17, but this campground is not gated, and the boatramp is open. Prior to April 17 camping is FREE, and $18 base rate after that. According to their website, it's first come, first served until May 21.

Cold Springs campground is not open, but is not gated. They are FREE until they open May 7.

Call HooDoo at 541 822 3799 for more info on camping.

I've got some nice tackle to give away at the class. Aufish 101 has donated one of his jigs to everyone who attends, and Hootchieguy has donated some nice gear too. I'll also have lake trolls, hoochies, spinners, spoons and scent to give away

The weather forcast is coming in pretty favorable with highs nearing 60 degrees (yes, it's barely spring in the mountains), and water temps inching closer to where one can expect the bite to turn on.

CORRECTION Another HooDoo employee told me this morning that the Indian Ford campground is locked. I drove out this morning and confirmed that. I have also confirmed with my own eyes that Link Creek is not locked, and is relatively snow free.

Looking forward to the classes next weekend . Will not be able to bring my boat over as I had originally planned so now I'm hoping someone has an open seat on Saturday morning as I would like to put the knowledge gained on Friday night to good use if possible the next morning. Looking forward to meeting moknots,eric71m, and others .

I am planning on bringing my boat over, but I won't be there until late Saturday (for the evenning class) and plan on fishing a bit Sunday morning out of my drift boat. I think I will have room for a couple people if there is interest. I am new to Kokanee, so as long as people don't expect much we should have fun!

I will be bringing my boat as well. I will be fishing Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I have plenty of room should anyone want to give it a shot. My wife and I will be staying at the Best Western [Tent camping is too cold for her this time of year ].

Great seminar or I mean Nar because there was nothing Semi about it. Macnots knows his stuff and put on a real great class. Several of the people that were in the class came back after taking it last year! Lots of free tackle and I got to put faces to people that I have been chatting with here on Ifish.

The class was most helpful and a ton of fun. We had a blast and greatly enjoyed the lodge, restaurant and the class. I would suggest this for class for anyone who has an interest in the Koke addiction. Megan and I are already talking about going next year!

Cheers,
