Re: Green Peter
Fish were nice size, starting to get fat but the bite was slow. Fresh kokanee on the grill tonight
Had a great day on the water, not a breeze all day. Glassy smooth! You guys missed out! There were only 5 rigs in the parking lot. Looks like the county is working on getting the loading docks in order.
The low water ramp is up to the highest ramp now so it isnt such a hike to park your rig.

Re: Green Peter
At the ramp at GP, are there any docks in the water once you launch, or do you just have to beach it? I haven't been there in years.

If you unload at Thistle Creek, you have to bank it. The ramp by the campground usually has a loading dock. They are rebuilding the dock so at this point it is a bank shot too

I found out today that you "can't get there from here." Went up for my Spring Shakedown Cruise today (Sunday) We drove over toward the Whitcomb Creek Campgroung/boat launch intending to see if it were indeed usable. Found a big Yellow gate (locked) at the turnoff to the campground. No joy.
Then went over to Thistle Creek. The dock looks to have been completely refurbished, new decking and rub rails, all ready to go, but it's still 10 feet up the hill from the water! So, yes, the ramp is perfectly usable but you do have to 'bank it' while you take your truck back up to the parking lot.
Shakedown went extremely well, all systems functioned as they should, fish were quite considerate and left us completely alone, water was smooth so it was easy to see and avoid all the floating logs etc. Until about 2PM when up comes the wind to make things ugly. On the way back in we drove up to the Whitcomb Creek ramp to see what things looked like from the water. Son-of-a-gun! Newly refurbished dock there, too, and it's FLOATING! But can you get to it? Nope, not with that front gate being locked. Then to add insult to injury, there is a log boom stretched completely across the cove so you can't reach the ramp from the water, and a big yellow backhoe blocking off access at the top of the ramp (as if the rest of the stuff wasn't enough). Okay, I got the message..campground/launch ramp closed.
But ya' know.....if they can get the dock floating there, a guy would think that the Thistle Creek dock could be working as well. If it stays where it is, it won't be usable until the lake is completely at full pool. One wonders why that nice guide rail for the dock goes all the way down as far as it does if it isn't going to be used to get the dock floating.
End of mini-rant.

GP is 997 now. If it's not full pool right now, what is full pool?
If I remember correctly, last year I remember seeing the gauge at 1004. When going to the lake and looking at the dam, it looked like it was close to spilling over at that level.

Re: Green Peter
It is now 999.79. The web site says that full pool is 1015. I wish they would extend the docks a little.
When I went by Sunnyside on Foster last week the docks were barely in the water. I did notice notice that there were 2 more sections of docks up on the side of the parking lot, sure would be handy if they would put those in the water.
