Default Wanted: Truck or SUV (looking now, buying in June)

I am looking for a truck or suv. I finally talked my wife into it- she's been a bit leery since I bought an Explorer a couple years ago and the transmission went out 2 weeks later. (right after putting $600 into the tires of course!) But... we decided to give it another go as a reward for me quitting smoking last month, along with making honor roll while working full-time. That being said, I am starting to look now, and will be buying in mid June, about 10 weeks from now.

I'm looking for something in the 1k to 2k range. I prefer a 4 or 6 cylinder, since I will be driving it back and forth from Salem to Albany daily for work. It must be reliable and look decent. an SUV would be my first choice, next would be an extra cab style pickup, and last would be a standard cab pickup. (I have a 19 month old and another on the way, so a backseat would be nice to have for fishing trips with daddy!) Non-smoking vehicle is an absolute must.

I'll be paying cash, unless you would like to do a partial trade- I've got some random HVAC equipment (vacuum testers) and a fluke multimeter. I have no real use for them, I got them as payment for helping a friend clean up his mom's property so she could sell her house. I've also got a Remington 870 express and a Mosin Nagant 7.62x54r The Mosin is WW2 surplus and Has been sitting in my garage for years. The Remington was purchased new in 2002 and has only had about 100 rounds through it since then.
