Default Yampa River

Ended up putting this in the wrong section.

Wanted to see if anyone here at ifish has experience with the Yampa river in Colorado? My wife and I are going to be in Steamboat Springs at the end of September, and I was hoping to get some fishing in. Curious whether anyone has done the Yampa, and whether its worth taking the rods.

Sorry, I can't help with any info. I have a buddy that lives in Colorado. I'll see if he has any info and get back to you.

Don't make that trip without your rods! I lived in Vail from 2002 - 2008 and only made a few trips up there and it can be amazing!

You can actually fish right in town but the farther from town you get the better!

If you're up for a short hike and can make it down into the canyon below the dam it's a great tailwater!

Good luck!
