Default Help with outboard tune-up

Is there any Ifish member professionals that can tune-up motors without the killing price of the shops? I would gladly pay someone a reasonable amount to help me tune-up my motor. Thanks.

What kind of motor is it, and what kind of tune up do you want? Most basic tune ups I think you might be able to do yourself.

I can't do the work for you , but you can start by changing your spark plugs, make sure they are gapped properly, Plus add dialectric grease to the spark plug befor putting the rubber plug wire on it. #2 cahnge your feul filter inside the engine cowling. #3 The cheapest insurance you can get is to have your water pump impeller replaced every three years, two years if in the salt. It will be the best $125.00 you have ever spent on your motor. check your motor to see if you have corrorsion build up anywhere. tinker, be proactive, don't wait for some thing to go wrong, preventative maintenence is the key to not getting standed on the water. best of luck!
