Default penn 800 fantom master downrigger

Anyone know how to wire one up. It is 4 wires. Red, black, green and white.

I hooked up the red to + and black to neg and it works. What do the green and white do and what polarity do they go to.

Please respond if you know as I would not like to burn it up if you want me to try this to that and see what happens. I can do that on my own.

Thanks. Giz...

From the awesome link posted above.

"The green and white wires go to an optional remote control kit.
Make sure the ends of these wires are capped, as they will have current in them when the downrigger is running."

Thanks for taking the time to respond.

Do either of you know what the optional switch looks like.

I am asking to see if a double toggle switch would work to control the unit from a distance. I have a winch switch and was wondering if it would work.

Thanks.

Looks like it shown pretty clearly in the link provided on page 16.

3-position momentary toggle, green wire is down, white wire is up, Batt - (ground) is common, or center.

The worst part of this whole thing is that I called 2 of the companies that sell parts for the unit and neither could answer the question and one gave me penn reels to call. So I did and they could not answer the question and told me that I needed to call back when their one tech was in to see if he could answer it.

So I put it on Ifish instead and problem solved in a few posts.

Thanks again.
