Default Drift Boat Borrow or Rent?

Hello,

My Dad is bugging me to run the Service Creek to Clarno section of the John Day with him on May13 - 16. This stretch is all Class I with two or three Class II rapids........not challenging

I'm hoping I can find someone who will let me rent or borrow their drift boat so I can row gear and fish for smallmouth?

I am an experience oarsman with countless Deschutes and Salmon River (ID) floats under my belt.

It would be great if the boat was in Portland, ideal if it was in Hood River.

Thanks, Matt

I would just rent a raft in Spray, right on the river and easier to use on the John Day.

I also saw the craigslist add, somewhere around a 100 bucks per day, discounts for extended trips. Otherwise you can rent a raft in maupin and transport it out there. Most companies have cheap prices if you're going to haul the boat yourself. I'd recommend All Star, good boats, nice people, fair prices.
