Hi, I have my brother and dad are coming in tonight for a weeks stay,I have a guide trip scheduled for midweek(Dave Johnson) but I want to take them out for some early springer action......I live within 5 minutes of the Wilamette by O.C. but I think it might be a bit early for that can anybody recommend a place, maybe on the lower Columbia where we'd have a decent chance to see some springer action and the best bait to use(herring)???any help would be appreciated,,,,my Dad and bro are from N.J. as I was originally so I reallllllllly need a good sugestion,,,,,thanks in advance

Last Cast, you might consider a trip at the coast with Marty Peterson. He has a great special going for broodstock fishing at $75 per man per day. HE is the main man or Mr. Nestucca to some. You couldn't find a better deal.

There's some fish in the OC area. dont overlook it around the lake hole.

*Fish only bite wet hooks*

A good place to fish early in the season is around Coon Island in the Multnomah channel. The fish funnel through this area but be aware there could be hog lines.

Another place upriver from this is the mouth of the channel near Sand Island, good trolling water and enough room to move around the hog lines.

Good Luck
