Default boat value?

i am looking to buy a little boat. i know of a guy that wants to sell a 1977 16 foot jon boat, with a 1977 9.9 horse johnson. he doesn't know the value. he said it has only been in the water a dozen times before he had two knee operations. he wants me to make an offer and i do not have a clue as to what HONEST offer to make.

thanks Sam.

If all is in good running order, my guess is $1,000 to 1,250. Thats with a trailer. Just a guess.

Just as a guess, if the hull is that old, it may be riveted, as such I would say $700-1100 for the hull. On the higher end if its welded. As for the motor, depending on condition and how well it runs, could be $300-500.

Just my guess, we'll see what others think.

I'd say in the $1000.00 range if it doesn't leak and the motor runs.

Riveted boats aren't all bad. After all if riveting were bad why do they rivet airplanes?

Okey Dokey?

i would say $1000-1500 if everything worked well. here's a question for you does a jon boat have enought freeboard for the water you will be fishing. A six inch wind chop could give you problems. what kind of water will you be fishing on?
