Changing to Non-Ethanol Fuel
How important is it to drain the tank completely dry before filling with EO fuel? I have about 5 gal of E10 left in my tank and found a place with EO. Is there any issue with mixing that 5 gal? My tank is a 40 gal tank. Thanks

Can't answer your question, but I'd love to know the location for EO fuel near here- please post if you would!

Re: Changing to Non-Ethanol Fuel
If it was me I would drain as much as possible. If you use your boat quite a bit its probably not a big deal though.

Re: Changing to Non-Ethanol Fuel
It doesn't need to be drained, adding E0 to E10 will simply reduce the percentage of alcohol, the lower the better. If it's going to sit, I'd run as much out as I could and top off with E0, otherwise just start using ethanol free from here on out.

Re: Changing to Non-Ethanol Fuel
Thanks everyone, sure appreciate the advice. Looks like Pacific Pride in Longview has EO. Best wishes to all.

Matt just wanted to say I appreciate your knowledge and postings on this issue. I had your prior posts on E0 + E10 in mind when I began blending in the EO last weekend.
BTW, St.Helens Marina sells E0....price was $3.45

Re: Changing to Non-Ethanol Fuel
When I switched I drained the tank into the truck and filled the boat with e0, extreme yes, but wasn't taking any more chances with crappy e10 fuel in my boat.

Re: Changing to Non-Ethanol Fuel
Suggestion for you. If you leave the 5 gallons in the tank, add STABIL to it and then fill up the tank. You should be fine unless you have a 20 gallon fuel tank. If so, get it all out!

Thanks Gary...
Not too bad I suppose, I won't run High Octane in a motor that's designed to run 87.
For the record...I've had no ethanol issues in my 2001 Merc 75 2-stroke, 4-stroke 9.9 kicker, '84 GMC 5 liter PU, '69 Chev 3/4 ton 307 V-8. two commercial Toro 2-stroke mowers, 2-stroke string trimmer, 3.5hp edger, 2-stroke gas hedge trimmer, ancient Sears/Poulan chain saw...And I leave my small gans cans opened to the air in the back of the truck. I DO use Sea Foam in the power equipment and Stabil Marine in the boat tank for the winter.
Been lucky maybe.
