Default Wilson River- Lost Rod and Fish

A friend of mine went fishing on the Wilson river this Saturday. HE also took a friend of his who I don't know.

This story gets interesting becasue his buddy felt something odd on his pole and reeled in. There was a bunch of line wrapped around his setup so he kept pulling in the line. To his suprise a brand new reel and rod (a nice one) was on the end of the line.

Once he had the rod in the boat he noticed something tugging against the line that was on the rod that he found.

He reeled in and there was a chrome bright hatchery fish that was alive and well on the end of the pole.

Not only did he find a rod and reel but he landed his only fish of the day.

I am not making any promises, because I do not know his friend or what tyoe of character he has. But if someone can tell me what exect make/model/and color the rod and reel are then I could try and get it back.

If I found it, I would give it back for sure. All I can do is try to get it back but that is all.

how many times does that happen? one time my brothers and i were fishing in washougal on a secret place that i wont reveal, he set his pole down after casting, and a few minuts later while me and my other brother were fighting some fish, his pole decided to chase a fish into the water. we found his pole about 75 yards from the rock we were on the next year. it was about 20 feet deep.

Saw it happen on the Salmon River this fall. Guy hooks up, trips in his boat, drops pole into water. A few min later a guy down stream snags it. Pulls pole into boat, starts to fight the still hooked salmon. Guy horses fish, snaps pole, throws fit drops pole backinto river. Third boat snags broken pole, brings pole onto his boat reals salmon in by pullin on fishing line. Gets it to the boat and its FOUL HOOKED Biggest Chieneese fire drill I have ever seen!

I was up fishing at East Lake for browns after high school graduation and we were knocking them dead. We put the biggest weights we had on and hucked the bait out as far as we could. We kept a lot of tension on the lines so we could see a strike. It was pretty windy still so we had our backs to the wind, and our poles as it was. We had 3 browns pull our poles in the water and we would have to run out into the shollows to grab them back! Never lost a pole and came away with seven fish and 1 ground squirl. The squirl was released and a whole nother story

To bad it wasn't on the nest. I had a guy with cold hands donate one of mine last week attached to a fish. Tim

What a wild story, I had a buddy donate a nice rod to a California lake while fishing for lunker catfish.
Never did find that rod either.

that is to funny.

ok I have one too. My best friend and I where trolling a california lake for rainbows in his canoe a bunch of years ago and he took his dad's old multi peice eagle claw rod without him knowing.(30 years old.) Well we where young and didn't have much money so he had a cheap reel on it with the drag locked down. Next thing you know I hear this oh s*** and see his rod just doubled over I see him reach and just in time the rod spring boards over the edge about 1/1.000.0000 of an inch from his hand and the sad part was we could see the yellow rod as it was drug away.

my oh my was his dad mad if his dad was still alive I wouldn't even tell the story out of fear he would hear it again and have a memory surge.

I left a fishing pole and reel at Pacific City one fall. I got home, and rats, my I left my fishing pole.

I then got a call out of the blue the next day from my old neighbor from across the street - Ray Paul(now lives 25 miles away), and he tells me his buddy found a nice pole and reel the same day I left mine.

I told him I left mine, and if it's the same one, I can identify it. Well the guy called me up, and I identified it. I met him at the fishing hole a week or so later, and got my pole and reel back!

I didn't have it in the water, I just had it sitting near the grass, and I forgot it.
