Default Just when you thought is was safe to go back into the water...

I had expected to run some trips down on the coast from tomorrow through the weekend to chase some of those fresh natives but I just checked the weather service and got this report.FGUS76 KPQR 202039
ESFPQR
ORZ001>004-WAZ021-212000-

HYDROLOGIC OUTLOOK
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE PORTLAND OR
1223 PM PST WED FEB 20 2002

...A FLOOD POTENTIAL OUTLOOK HAS BEEN ISSUED FOR THE COAST AND COAST
RANGE OF SOUTHWEST WASHINGTON AND NORTHWEST OREGON THROUGH FRIDAY...

A WET PACIFIC STORM IS HEADED FOR SOUTHWEST WASHINGTON AND NORTHWEST
OREGON. HEAVY RAIN AT TIMES IS EXPECTED...ESPECIALLY ALONG THE COAST
AND COAST RANGE...BEGINNING LATE TONIGHT. A WARM FRONT WILL BRING
THE FIRST SURGE OF HEAVY RAIN LATE TONIGHT AND THEN ANOTHER SURGE
WILL OCCUR WITH THE FOLLOWING COLD FRONT THURSDAY NIGHT.

ALTHOUGH RAINFALL AMOUNTS FOR THE STORM COULD REACH UP TO 3 OR 4
INCHES IN THE COAST RAIN...CURRENT INDICATIONS ARE THAT RIVERS
DRAINING THE COAST RANGE WILL NOT REACH FLOOD STAGE. RAPID RISES
WILL OCCUR TO NEAR OR A LITTLE ABOVE BANKFULL.

RAINS ARE EXPECTED TO TAPER OFF FRIDAY.

VARIATIONS IN EXPECTED RAINFALL AMOUNTS OR DURATION COULD RESULT IN
SIGNIFICANT DIFFERENCES IN RIVER FORECASTS. THE NATIONAL WEATHER
SERVICE WILL BE MONITORING THE SITUATION CLOSELY.

BE SURE TO STAY TUNED TO NOAA WEATHER RADIO OR YOUR FAVORITE LOCAL
MEDIA SOURCE FOR UPDATES. YOU CAN MONITOR RIVER CONDITIONS ON THE
INTERNET AT:

WWW.WRH.NOAA.GOV/PORTLAND/PUBLIC_HYDRO (LOWER CASE).

Looks like I may have to cancel a few trips.

I think we should be fine for fishing tomorrow before the rivers rise then we will be out of comission for a day or two but by Sunday or Monday there should be some places fishing again.

And when the rivers clear it should be gang busters for some awsome steelhead.

You know that lake looks like the lake I get down the road from me every time it rains. BUT since I lived in Europe for 3 years I also recongnise the lane shift road sign. Must be France. I don't remember the sharks being that aggressive in Germany.
