Dudley Nelson, First Springer winner... so far?
I sure hope no one is holding out on us here. Checked with most of the check ins, and so far, Dud is the man!
Here are some pics:
Here is what he had to say:
Jennie,
18Lbs
Lake Oswego Area, Willamette River
8:00 A.M., 2/16/02
Weighed in at Fisherman's Marine in Oregon City by Mike Boetcher at around 11:00 A.M. 2/16/02
Caught on Red Prawn with spinner teaser. (Enclosed)
(Yay! I got a free teaser in the deal!)

Re: Dudley Nelson, First Springer winner... so far?
What rock have I been living under and why haven't I seen a rig like that before? Anyone else seen/try these? I have used prawn rigs behind traditional salmon spinners, but this is news to me.
Looks like a barrel swivel with a split ring on the willow leaf blade.
Thanks for the pic Dudley!

I have seen those rigs, but usually during Shad season. I have hooked quite a few Salmon fishing for Shad on that same rig.

Re: Dudley Nelson, First Springer winner... so far?
I felt the same way! I read the letter, and it said, Teaser enclosed...I went through the garbage and found out, YES IT WAS ENCLOSED!!
What the heck is this???
COOL! By the way, the pic makes it look colored. It is not. It is a pure silver blade.

Jennie what size is that hook...5/0 or so? Just curious to get a scale on the size of the blade.

Re: Dudley Nelson, First Springer winner... so far?
This hook is a 3/0 best that I can tell.
The blade is an inch or less long.
