Question fuel delivery problem, Yamaha 50 2 stroke

At full throttle it looses RPM's and will sometimes die. If I pull back on the throttle It will usually hold a medium speed, and after a while of running mid-throtle I can increase throttle and pick up speed. The ball is usually some what soft, but not collapsed. If you pump it a couple times until it gets hard it runs fine for a while. I have a large fuel filter/water seperator one foot above the fuel tank, which is in the bottom of the boat. Seems to have been more of a problem this weekend after I topped off the tank. Any one have any thoughts? fuel pump? vent? Maybe bypass the filter?

Cool Re: fuel delivery problem, Yamaha 50 2 stroke

Change the filter on your fuel/ water separator ...

Along with the fuel filter/separator change the fuel lines and bulb from the tank to the engine.

A fuel pump rebuild is never a bad idea on a questionable carbureted 2 stroke.
