Default Trask Hatchery location?

Can anyone briefly explain where the Trask hatchery is?? Which fork of the river? Is there a map that shows it? Just curious. Seeing as how both our steelies this weekend were natives, I am wondering if we zigged when we should have zagged, and thus, missed the bonkers.

Tex,

The Trask hatchery is a salmon hatchery and doesn't plant steelhead. There are strays from the Wilson that make their way into the Trask but they make up a small percentage and since it's getting late chances of getting one are low. You should have been down on the Wilson in December and January, that's the place for bonking.

If you want to find the Trask Hatchery take a left off of Highway 6 on Trask River Road, cross Johnson's Bridge an take your next left, the road ends at he hatchery. There are ODFW signs that show the way.

The trask is not planted with any steelhead. If you catch a clipped steelie is a stray, probably from the wilson or maybe the nestucca, otherwise a really lost fish.

The trask hatchery is on the other side of the river from where you drove up to the dam hole. You need to go down river and cross at the bridge, go about 1/2 mile and up chance road to the end of the road. It is about 3 miles up chance road to the hatchery.

The Trask hatchery is on the main river about 5 or 6 miles below the dam hole, the river does not fork until you get about 8 miles about the dam hole. I use the dam hole as a reference since I know you know where it is, since you fished it.

Edit: Sorry David, I think we were typing at the same time as you.
