Default Smelt dipping questions............

My sister called me the other day and wants me to take her to dip some smelt when they get in. I haven't done this for years and have read sometime back that there is a place in Longview where you can rent a net and dip, I believe it is Carnival market, is this true.

Could someone fill me in if this is a true statement and if so, where it is located and directions to get there.

Thanks,
JK

Carnival Market,if coming of I-5 take the second Kelso exit, west on Allen street till you cross the Allen Street bridge over the Cowlitz river, turn right head north along the river untill you see the fish market on the right, just a little further and Carnival Market will be on the left,it is a round building painted with red and white stripes. Also if you watch along the highway on your drive to the market there may be a truck parked along side the road offering nets for rent.If you've made it this far you should be able to find good dipping along any stretch of this road,or go ahead and explore a little if ya see trucks parked, there should be nets swingin and your chances should be pretty good.Oh if you come off the Lewis and Clark bridge(Rainier)hang a right at the bottom and just follow Industrial way it will take you to 3rd ave. and to Westside Hwy.
