Default Excess Steelhead

Sometimes the lights go on, and your standing there in your shorts. I was at a local lake that was full of steelhead with the promise of another 1500 to 2000 more being stocked in the next few weeks, most were in the 4 to 8 pound range, hatchery bred. Unspawned and bright, the hens full of eggs, at any rate the light goes on, these fish if not caught are going to die. How in the heck are we ever going to be able to get a legitimate chance at a real wall hanger if we kill off all the KEEPER's or let the hatchery's selectively kill the hatchery fish for fertilizer. I can remember my first 20# keeper steelhead...long time ago....
