sounds like a fun trip. i know that if your looking for a large limit this probably isnt your best place. you can catch a few but from what i have heard its kinda slow. but...the size of the fish are great, from 16-20 inches. trolling wedding rings with firecorn or a little worm. early mornings you should pull rapalas around shore in shallows for the big browns that lurk in there. then switch to the kokes. good luck, hope this helps

We did that trip last year, or maybe the year before. We had limited success at Wikiup the first few days and then drove up to Paulina toward the end of the trip. Paulina was much better and we wished we would have gone there first. Paulina had browns and kokanee and we did great on both. We also hit some shallow lake full of snags that I cant remember the name of. It was pretty good for larger rainbow trout.

So from the hook on up it goes: Shoe Peg Corn on the tip of the hook, night crawler on the rest. (just use the light colored part of the worm) Wedding ring, leader to rubber snubber connected to Kokanee killers (small flashers) connected to banana weight. Bring different colors of wedding rings and the red rubber snubber s seem to work as well as the natural colored.

This is how we do it. Later in the year, you can usually just find the schools and use Nordics or Cast Masters to jig for them.

Read the information about Paulina as it has Mercury and there is a limited amount of fish that they recommend you consume for any given time.

This time of year, the fish are not schooled up in my personal experience. It is more of a trolling gig. Later in the year, the fish school up as the spawn nears. I have my best luck with pink or chartreus. Fish shallow and fish the warmer waters.
I would agree with Flyman about calling the lodge first, this year may be the exception with the lack of snow pack. Many of the high lakes are already turned over...
