Salmon rod?
I have about 5 salmon rods. A couple Ugly Sticks, and old no namer ,,and a fish Eagle Two.
The Fish Eagle and the Ugly sticks are 7ft. one piece rods. The Ugly Sticks are 15-30 lb test , with slow action. The FishEagle is 12-25 lb. and heavy action.
I was looking at rods and saw what looks like a good addition to my collection.
I was looking at The 8 1/2 ft. 12-25 lb. test, two piece, spinning ,with moderate action.Lamiglass. The Model # G 1315 , called Keni Special.
I would be using this rod for springers, downriggers in the ocean, and Buoy 10.
with a knuckle buster and 30 lb test.
What do ya think about the Keni Special ???id. painter

Re: Salmon rod?
I think you'll find it a bit light for trolling Delta Divers at B10.

Re: Salmon rod?
Why a spinning setup?

Re: Salmon rod?
I like to use a knuckle buster reel. Shimano GT 2000 Moocher. You cant use one(moocher) on a rod with a trigger. The spin rod works perfect.
Maybe a bit light for buoy 10 .. probably right. Thanks . id. painter

Re: Salmon rod?
That sounds like a sweet unit. I have gotten hooked on the single gear and spinning handles of the moocher, as long as I dont have to cast. id. painter

Re: Salmon rod?
id painter, check out Shimano's line of moochers. They have a long fore grip and a short rear grip, perfect for your knuckle buster. Pretty nice rod for under $70.00. Will also work for bobber fishing.

Re: Salmon rod?
I was looking at one of the Shimano Convergence Moochers the other day. Looked like a really nice rod. I love the Convergence series of rods. They have great feel and low price.

Re: Salmon rod?
I have a couple berkely 1 piece 15 to 50 rods that i use for trolling cut plug, kwikfish, and anchor fishing anchovies with a spinner bait. I love them rods and they were only $59 when I bought them I would be hard pressed to buy anything to replace them except the exact same rod
I have abu 5001son my they are old I think they are called 5500s now.

Re: Salmon rod?
I love my knucklebuster and have the same one. I have it on an extra rod i picked up at the Cabellas outlet store in Minnesota for $7. It ain't pretty but works great for heavy pulling of the divers in the salt or B10. Go for the King Kat for $20 from the catalogue. Not real pretty but I use it on my knuckle buster and love it. Adds a little personality to realin em in.

Re: Salmon rod?
I've got two Lamiglas rods built for knucklebusters (Peetz reels, of course)...Shouldn't try to double or triple up on salmon outfits if you can help it...you end up with sora-works-for-this-and-that....
