Default Kicker mounting questions

So my transom is 25" that means I need an x-tra long shaft right. But what if I want to use a spring loaded kicker mounting bracket? Would I want to get a long shaft then? Is a kicker mounting bracket the only good way to get the kicker out of the water when running the jet in the shallows?

in my humble opinion yes..its so much easier to just raise the spring mounted kicker then lifting up and down the kicker. and my little boat it sort of free's up room so the main motor and kicker dont get in each others way..but if your transom is wide..i guess thats not a issue..and the sping mounted bracket gives you a freedom to place your kicker and different depths.

My guess is the spring loaded kicker mounting bracket will help get the kicker motor up, but you still will need to tilt the kicker if your running in shallow water. Just my

i would have kicker bracket welded on and go with an extra long shaft kicker. 28"?. They are made for sailboats. I had an OMC braket and 2 of them broke eventually and then the uneven force cracked the transom. Went with the T8 with a welded bracket and 8 years later no problems. I have the electric tilt T8 and love it. The 4 strokes are heavier than the 2 strokes most brackets were designed for.
