And whatever you do, don't skinny dip anywhere near FNF. He is easily led astray.

Steve

I checked on the dart site for temps, but got lost in the mass of information that is displayed.Do you know where I should be looking?

We will get together for a wind river trip soon as the fish start showing. I am after walleyes at this time, and water temp is critical.

Kenia,
I don't have the site for you, but I can say the Columbia, east side of Sand Island, St. Helens on Sun. was @ 45 deg. That is if my fishfinder is accurate.

I was pulling my anchor on sunday, and my hands went numb from the cold rope. I think the water is considerably cooler at the bottom.

Kenia, good luck on finding the walleyes  . I checked out the water temps on the DART site and its interesting that the McNary tailrace had temps higher (around 43 deg.) on Jan. 12th than the temps are now (around 39 deg). Is that due to more snowmelt now than in January?

Kenia,
Go to river, climate and ocean data on the dart site. Then go to River Report (composite). It will give you a list of Dams and other area's. It will give forebay and tailrace temps.
I rented a house down on the Columbia, 1/2 mile by boat to the Wind River! SALMON CAMP 2002!!!
