Default MM Anchor Rest on NR Seahawk?

I'm looking to install my Miller Marine anchor rest on my 20' North River Seahawk and am not sure how far to extend the rest out from the bow of the boat. It seems to sit flat on the bow when it is flush back against the nose of the bow. Does anyone have any recommendations or care to share any photos of their similar install? Thanks.

I put mine way out as far as it'd go so the anchor would have less chance of hitting the bow. The down side is you whack your head a few times before you learn to not stand up too quick when messin' with the hitch or crossing over the tongue. Also hook up to your tow rig and adjust accordingly to not dent the tailgate, camper door or take out the back window of your canopy. Gets real long when the anchor is in the nest.

What I recommend is to mock up the Anchor Locker with your anchor. Position the anchor shaft just below the roller hanging from the chain and the anchor turned so it is closest to the bow, you want enough clearance so the anchor will not contact the bow should a swell or wake cause the anchor to swing.

Each boat is different you also need to take into consideration such things as the trailer and supporting structure under the bow. The North River boats have square tubing under the bow that complicates it a little. The bolt pattern of the Anchor Locker will just clear the edges of the tube but will not give you enough room for a nut. The easiest fix is to purchase one of our aluminum backing plates or fab up a strap to span the bottom of the square tubing. The square tubing will be sandwiched between the backing plate and bow the single bolt will go straight through that square tube.

I hope this made since.
