Default Need Advice

I have been wanting to find a drift on the wilson/sandy/clackamas that is a little more challenging to try and improve my DB skills without endangering my boat/life. I have floated the Nestucca many (50+) times from 1st bridge down without any problems and also the N. Santiam below Greens Bridge. I have also been on the Siletz around the town. I would like to know if anyone has any suggestions for a drift that might fit the bill and could impart some advice. I live in Newberg, so would like somewhere within a couple hours drive.

Thanks Iggie. I'd like to go down the Santiam this summer. Am interested in the Mehama to Stayton float. I want to stay away from Spencers and the rough water below Fishermans Bend. E-Mail me later on in the year and we can set something up. I guess there are no DB'ers out ther with an opinion/advice for me on other rivers :depressed:

gottawayagain, I've been asking some of the same questions as you've asked.
Some of the replys have been the Sandy river and the Alsea. Look in archives under search and you'll find a ton of information. Good luck to you.

Gottawayagain,
There are several more challenging drifts close to you. Mckiver lower boat ramp down to Barton is good water on the Clackamas. Upper Nestucca runs are challenging from the 6th bridge down. I would suggest going with someone like Marty Peterson to learn this one. You can also put in at Vanderzandens on the Wilson and take out at the Guide Shop.
