Default Canby Pond Report 3/20

well the twin trout killers struck again. Fishing was id say good to excellent!!! The girls probably caught a total of 15 fish in a few hrs this evening. The setup that did the best was a bobber 2 foot dropper with two red Patzkys. The big one was caught with green power bait fished off the bottum. Anyways tons of fun as is anyday i get to spend fishing with the kids. So heres some pics... Oh the biggest one we got was about 14"s i think we kept five all together

Thinking about taking the kids out to Canby Pond this weekend. What are you guys throwing at them that's working so well? Worms? PB? Eggs?

The boys fished bobbers, 24-30" leaders, splitshot and a #10 hook, should have been bigger, like a 4-6, missed lots of fish. Strayed with worms, bite died, then eggs, then power eggs. Seemed to change about every 30 minutes. Kids near us were doing well on corn. I think power eggs did the best. Bites were instant to no more than 5 minutes apart. Just make sure you cast out beyond the weeds.

Yep...that about covers it. I also heard a few catfish have been caught using worms.

If you aren't familiar with fishing the pond, it can be frustrating. Especially when others are getting constant action. Its easy to get bites, but the fish are bait thieves. Small weighted bobbers, small hooks, durable bait, light leaders are key. So is putting it out in the middle as mentioned.

The fishing and catching was good yesterday. Lots of fish waiting to be caught.
