Default FS: Central Vacuum System

We have a central vacuum system from our house that we are moving out of, it is 5 years old, and has a 10 year warranty on the main vacuum unit.

This unit is one of the top of the line systems, it is made by Heatilator Home Products, is 110v, and includes everything you need, except for the wall outlets and some of the 2" tubing (which needs to be installed inside of your house). This whole setup was about $1900, so this is a great deal at $500.

We are also pulling the kick plate vacuum port that goes along the baseboard and allows you to just sweep up a pile on the floor, open the panel, and it sucks it right in. We used it in our kitchen and it worked awesome.

Some people think that these are only for carpet, but our whole main level of our house was hardwood floors, and this worked perfectly for that. Additionally, all you have to carry upstairs, if you have a two-story house, is the head unit and hose.... very convenient.

You will get the main unit you see, plus the 30ft hose, the head unit, and the full garage kit you see (which is the hose, the wall outlet, the sound muffler for the garage, etc.). All of the plumbing in our garage will also go with it as well... having the outlet in the garage makes it easy to vacuum out your car, etc. The hose in the garage is like 20 or 25 feet long.

Each of the wall outlets are powered with this system, which is better than the systems that power on when the flaps open. This way it avoids children opening the outlets just to see what can get sucked in. The hose needs to be inserted and connected in order for the vacuum to turn on.

This unit is quiet, and has a large capacity. My wife vacuums a lot, and we only change the bags every 4 to 6 months depending on use.

Price is $500 for everything, there are push and pull vacuums that cost more than this.
