AS OF 2/13 THERE HAS BEEN NO SIGHT OF SMELT ON THE SANDY. WHEN THEY DO SHOW IT IS USUALLY AROUND THE LAST WEEK IN FEB. OR THE FIRST WEEK IN MARCH. IF YOU DONT MIND THE DRIVE TRY THE LEWIS OR THE COWLITZ. AT LAST CHECK THEY WERE PLUM FULL OF THE LITTLE BOOGERS.

Actually last year they did not show up in the Sandy until April. I was checking my log from last year. I also noticed that the smelt didn't even hit the Cowlitz until after the 1st of March last year.
Don't give up on the Sandy for at least 6 weeks.
