Normally always catch em below the damn, but I only have frozen smelt and don't want to hear "I told you so".

Where can I pick up some fresh smelt on the way to the fishery for Saturday? Somewhere close of the freeway for someone who doesn't know there way around the Portland area. Early morning hours too! Kinda picky huh?

Try Safeway at NE 181st and Halsey. $1.99 a pound! Their number is 665-1212.Just take the Rockwood exit off I84. Good luck.
