Just like to say hell-o. I've been in this area (Gresham) for a year and a half. I hail from Granite Falls,WA. My main fishery was the Puget Sound and the San Juan's. Yes downriggers @ 200ft. So this Columbia River is a whole new ballgame to me. Thanks to my neighber Trophy Tom and many people on the hog line Iám finally learning the ropes. Last spring was a learning experience but when fall came around we were ready. My wife and daughter and myself brought home nine Chinook. I've also been lucky enough to land six Steelhead on the Sandy. This is a GREAT place to live! Best of luck to everybody.

Welcome aboard, Jimmy B!!!
I've been here only a while, and have already gotten a lot of great responses. There are many great fishing (and other) experts willing to share their knowledge. I don't consider myself one of them, but I'll sometimes pitch in my 2 cents anyway
Thanks Jimmy, as you can see I changed from Trophy Tom. I have to admit you guys did great. But I did not teach you how to hook your net on a pole in the boat while trying to net a fish, or not to let go of the anchor while fighting a nook and wrap the line around the prop. The topper was adjusting your drag to much with that big nook on and finding what a birds nest means. But I was proud when you were able to hand line that fish in all 27lbs. Your guys were the talk of the hog line last fall, you come a long was, and guess what, we get to start all over again in afew weeks.
tight lines
Tom
