Default Sturgeon today at Kelly point

I took the old boat out all by myself today and the weather was sweet. I got a late start and only fished a couple hr NO fish for me :depressed: could'nt beat the weather. I saw vary little action from other boats, I only tried two spots. I was in a 16'glass boat with a Force out board, the boat is a Pacific mariner older plain jane looking. Any one see me? how did you do if you were out there?

Ok I fess up Mighty Piler I used the frozen. My mind was not right today after finding that my kicker was gone. Don't know when but it's gone and I am screwed :depressed: . I traded a trailer for that kicker Now I have to come up with the money for a used one, new in out of the question. I'm sure glad I'm a member of Team 'Sneakin' Out" or I would not be doing much Spring Salmon fishing.
You the MAN Tilla any used out boards for sale out there? a good price on one would make my 2 boys and I real happy    .

Sorry to hear of your loss. Last Saturday I gave up two Loomis/diawa 50h rods for about $600 to some piece of ***** drug addict who stole them out of my boat. Good thing he did not see or recognize the $1000 GPS/ Fishfinder with the priceless waypoints in it.

We will overcome, my brother.

Fishalot,
Sorry to hear about your kicker and the lack of action for sturgies. Between me you and the rest of the board, the sturgies are moving around. I have been fishing out of the normal holes and have been slaying them in about 50 feet of water in strong current. Try along the Washington side across from T-6. I anchor about 100 yards from shore in 48 to 53 feet of water. Give it a shot, dollar to a doughnut you knock em dead.

As far as a kicker goes, I have a 1999 Nissan 8 hp long shaft that I am thinking about selling. It is a 2 cycle and runs like a top. If you are interested, shoot me a mail. Better luck next time on the river

Fishalot,

I was there yesterday and it was the same..no bite, but great no wind sunny weather. The saturday before, it was read hot. I hooked one too big to land on 30lb line, and boated 4 keepers within 90 minutes just before sunset.....Go figure??

I think the bite is shut off because of all the smelt in the water; the same thing happened last year only a month later due to the later smelt runs. I have a feeling it's time to turn our attention to red meat.

Pretty rotten to lose that kicker like that. It's just a real waste of your time and money cause someone else has forced you to deal with it..
I am not all that sorry the fishing was off though, especially since you called me when I was off to see my boss wearing a tie and all, it especially hurt when you had to go because you were at the ramp. The only thing that made me feel good was the fact that maybe Pilar might be right about the fresh vs frozen
You need to be at home getting ready to be a team player for F4 sharpening hooks and doing research anyway.

...About getting stuff ripped off...
So, when I chased off that dude who was "looking for pop cans",
so he said
I might have stopped him from going shopping in my boat. AGAIN!
So, how could he afford that fancy $1,000 bike and also that custom bike trailer ??? HHHHHMMMMM
I sure do love my 12 ga.
He didn't know it was empty.
Probably why he soiled his drawers.
Funny thing, he never came back.

Am I a jerk for wanting to keep the stuff that I've worked hard for?

We fished Kelly Point today for about 4 hours from 8:00 to 12:00. Caught about a dozen sub-legal fish. No keepers.

We fished straight smelt. We used both last years frozen Cowlitz river smelt and this years fresh Safeway smelt. The Cowlitz smelt seem only slightly better.

The weather was beautiful and the crowd was friendly.

We are going to Newport to get some herring and crabs on Friday. Does any one have a report from Yaquina bay?

Fishalot ... I've got a Evenrude 9.9 short shaft in the garage. Its probably 20 years old but has had little use and starts and runs fine. I've been planning on selling it, just haven't got around to it yet. Email me if you are interested.

Regards,

Mark
