LMS 520c won't power up???? Help???

I just bought a skeeter from a dealer that had two networked LMS 520c's. The day we took it for a test spin with the retailer, the unit worked fine. Then I took it out a week later after i purchased the boat it worked fine for a few hours. Then, all of a sudden, I looked over at the unit and it was off. i TURNED THE UNIT ON AND IT POWERED UP JUST FINE FOR ABOUT 20 MINUTES then shut off. I powered up the unit again and all i got was black bars that run vertically for just a second and then nothing. I figured it night be a power issue but took my bow mount lM 520c and plugged it in at the console and it worked perfectly fine. I cleaned all of the connectors in the back of the unit when I got home and check for water. I even put the non working unit up front and still all I get is those black vertical bars that show up the dissappear. Any help would be appreciated

Does your boat have two batteries? I do on mine and my Lowrance acted like what you described then realized that I have my electronics hooked to the second battery and that I haven't charged it in over a couple of months so I cut the motor off, clicked on the Perko switch from 1 to all, restarted the motor and problem solved. Hope that helps.

That wouldn't matter, considering I took the LMS from the front and plugged it in at the console and it works....

Nope, clean those too. I contacted Lowrance support yesturday and they said it could be the screen. They offered me to ship it in and pay $212 to have it replace not fixed. Instead of paying $90+/Hr for parts and labor to fix, they just swap my unit with another refurbished. Sounds good to me!! If I had to buy another one, they go for $500-600 online.
