18 degrees when I left the house Sunday AM. It was a pretty slow day, but it didn't start that way. We ran up the Metolius and started trolling just before the island on the south shoreline. 10 minutes in I hooked up and got a small bull about 16" or so. I got back down and it was a long time before I got bit again. We trolled all the way down to Perry South without a bump. I was switching gear and setups, speed, etc. without success. Just prior to the big bend at Perry South, I marked a lot of fish but no hookups. After a potty and sandwich break at Perry South, we took off again and I dropped the kokanee gear in hopes of hooking up in the mass of fish I marked on the way in. The fish were still there, and on the 2nd pass I hooked up. About 2 seconds into the fish, I realized it wasn't a kokanee. A 14" bull on the kokanee rod was pretty fun though!! I made a few more passes, but didn't hook up with anything and I switched back to bull trout for about another half hour before we called it a day.
Saw dirty bird and he had got two bulls and said he had been sitting on 4 kokanee for a while.
Beautiful day on the water!!!
