Re: Ifish is great but what are some other boards?
THERE ARE NO OTHER BOARDS, THERE ARE NO OTHER BOARDS, THERE ARE NO OTHER BOARDS!!!!!!!

Seriously, Piscatorial Pursuits is probably the most popular "other" *cough*cough* board around here. The Guides Forecast is OK, but doesn't get as much action. Oregon Live has one that is good for a laugh or two, but not real useful. I'm sure there are others, but THEY ALL SUCK!!!
(where's my 5$ Jennie?)

A good board for B.C. info is fishbc.com
Similar to this board, good mods and an intelligent group of posters.

www.ifish.net
www.piscatorialpursuits.com and www.steelheader.net
They are the "axis of evil". That's why I frequent them.

www.walleyecentral.com is a good one for a lot of fishing topics. Really a huge board.
IFISH IS STILL NUMERO UNO!
www.steelheader.net is also great.

Re: Ifish is great but what are some other boards?
Wanna see how good IFISH is, go to "thefishsniffer.com" and see their forums. People bickering back and forth, calling each other names. Anyone who can stay on the site for more than 10 minutes is a bigger person than me. Someone here has a quote about combat fishing, this site is about combat posting. Alan

Re: Ifish is great but what are some other boards?
Hmm...I have learned of different sites...I am not one to enjoy surfing so I get stuck a little.
The 3 that have been around the longest that I am aware of are: Piscatorial Pursuits very good especially for Olympic Peninsula fishing it has around 3,000 members I thing, then ifish which is awesome for SW Washington and NW Oregon with about 2,000 members then the other washington board that has been around longer than ifish (it was self promoted here by the owner) with a whopping 160? members. So the reality is that there are two very good sites in my opinion with Steelheader.net starting to have a good forum but with absolutely awesome fishing how to's it is a must see! As for the rest....no real need to visit as far as I am concerned. I will be going to that Walleye site...just cuz Fear No Fish said to! Hey Fear....did you see them thundersticks on Ebay??
Well...off for a Steelie/Sturg day...hope to get one or the other.
Jim

Here's a site I used to spend alot of time on, 'till I found ifish of course. Lots of good info for the basser plus tech help for boats and motors.

How can a site, that's been around longer than ifish, have only 160 members?

Re: Ifish is great but what are some other boards?
I am fairly new to this area and to these forums. I have visited most of the ones mentioned here and found some very good info on all of them. I think this board is awesome, even thought I did get a little slap in the hand by one of the moderators for one of my recent posts. But judging by a couple of the posts here it looks like it's ok to slam some people I guess it just depends on who your slamming. I'm not sure what exactly Hey Yall's beef with Gamefishin is and judging by some of things I've read I can see why Jim posted what he did, seems like he has a personal beef with the webmaster there. I personally visited the site and found it very good for WA info. I just visited steelheader.net and found a lot of great info there also. I can see that it may best best just to stay in the background here

Re: Ifish is great but what are some other boards?
Ironheader, welcome, and from the slap-taking king, I was not slamming. Moreless making a bittersweet point. Point being that your board is only as good as your members and what goes into it. I did not slam the board or website; check it out, hell who's to stop you?
Just find it funny how some folks won't leave other folks alone and get on with life. Give a backwoods boy a computer with internet access, throw in his buddies with the same mentality (and weak ass internet connection), and things really get interesting on the boards. Especially if you have to listen to their crap for years.

Re: Ifish is great but what are some other boards?
Thanks for the welcome.
I have no idea what your talking about, but it seemed to me that the post for that site was well intended and the it looks like the mud slinging is one sided. Calling someone and their friends backwoods boys sounds like a slam to me. IMHO I guess its none of my business and frankly I don't really care, just my observation.
I'm looking forward to catching some springers!

Hey, Ironheader, take Bubba (Jim) up on that invite and you'll soon be educated in the ways of the 'other' webmaster.
I'll be in Jim's boat too and look forward to meeting you.

Ironheader, you may be right. Most of the guys who were bad for that kind of thing are gone. You just have to take the rest with a grain of salt. Mostly, I think that's what they intend you to do anyway. Frequent what you like. Tis the American way, you don't like it...don't buy it!!
