Tell me about Kwikfish would ya?

Although I have a considerable amount of time fishing plugs I really know very little about Kwikfish. I tried to fish one several weeks ago but after watching the thing spin in the water a few times cut it off and put on a tadpolly. I am very familiar with tuning plugs but the Kwikfish (K12) seemed very unwilling to swim correctly in a moderate current. In a higher current it went crazy! Also, how deep will a size 10, 12, 13, dive? Are most of you guys using them behind a jet planer or weighting them? Just curious. Thanks!

Silver and yellow Kuickfish are my favorite plug, with the possible exception of the Wiggle Wart. I keep an assortment of about 8 in three sizes, for lighter current needs. In lower currents, the'll keep swimming where other plugs just drag. I usually weigh them down but with a long dropper as they sometimes snag up otherwise. But in high currents they tend to cause twist up problems.

Riverman, slow current is where this plug works best. It was originally designed to troll in lakes. Buy another one and try it again. Some percentage of plugs will never run right. Those you give to the competition, put some scratches on the sides to look like fish teeth, tie on a short piece of leader to look like it broke off and throw it in the river. People find them with teeth marks and they'll spend days fishing them. :grin: :grin: :grin:
