What is it you want, or expect it to do?

On a 24'er, I would think trim tabs would be a better choice.

I run one on a 23' single engine outboard boat. Planning speed was significantly reduced, along with far more ability to adjust bow entry. Fuel usage was unchanged. Most stock tabs (12x12") are not meant to change planning speed or entry angle, they are meant for balancing the boat side to side. The 12x12's are just too narrow to be efficient on a heavy boat, the wider tabs are much better, and can help efficiency. The nice thing about the foil is it doesn't effect the efficiency like tabs can but give many of the same benefits at a much cheaper cost.

I my case I already had 12x12 tabs, and wanted to avoid changing them. The foil also increases the responsiveness of the trim tabs.

I would recommend a thick all metal foil for a 24' boat. I broke a 1/8" aluminum foil in less than a year of ocean usage.

Trim tabs do a better job at what most people are looking for help with and while there is some over lap in what the two products do, they do it in an entirely different way.

Using a foil requires you to do some set up and testing after its installed, which typically means raising the motor for best results. On an I/O you can't do this, so there are frequently negative affects that you may need to live with if you decide to use one.
