Default Cutthroat fishing

The power went down today, so what could we do? I couldn't work, so soon enough we had the drift boat down in the river. (Bummer)
We thought we would get to plug through the logging bridge hole, but there were two women and a child there fishing.
That's neat! I thought...
Until....
We realized they were fishing with Mickey Mouse rods and worms. They were targeting and netting cutthroat! OMY!
The minute we saw them put the fish in the net, we pulled the boat over.
Bill was quite upset. I tried to handle it in a little more gentle manner, but seeing that cutt flop around on the rocks kind of raised my blood pressure too.
"We just let the little one net it for fun!"
They said.
I said, "The little one needs to learn about protecting our fish!"
Anyway... Come to find out, a guy from Kimmels told them the cutts were biting, and told them to go down there!
We called Kimmels...
Anyway, it was tough to watch.
Man, was it tough to watch.
Nice trip, even though I fell in the water for the first time.
Froze, soaking wet for the next 4 hours.
Jen

Default Re: Cutthroat fishing

You didn't get your Ifish hat wet did you???

It's sad what the "professionals" at the sporting good store will say anything to sell gear.

Next time you see the "Mickey bunch" let them know that the regs are free.
