Default 27 hooked and 17 in the boat

Another fine day on the Salmon River steelhead fishing. 4 of us hooked 27 and landed 17 steelhead in the boat including one very nice 38 incher (native).

SnakeRunner,

I have heard of those kind of days over there...

I travel to Boise every other week and the people over there rave about the steelhead fishing over there...

Congrats on the great day...

Snake:

Which section were you on? Need to quit working on my boat and actually go fishing. Maybe my kid would rather go fishing than skiing this weekend. I usually fish Corn Creek and up. Haven't been since December.

Black fly and silver corkie???

Last weekend the river was kind of cloudy and we were using a dark fly, dark corkie, usually black. We have a boat parked at the end of the road in Riggins @ the Vinegar boat ramp. Last weekend we went up towards McKay Bar. 3 weeks ago the river was iced over 1 mile above Shepp Ranch and we hooked 16 and landed 14 with a purple fly and pink head with purple corkies. Good luck.

Thanks! Sounds like they are on their way up, hopefully next week I'll make it out. Pretty sure I'd have to have to take my own rock this weekend. Do you salmon fish in the Riggins area also? Hopefully we'll have a good season, I haven't fished over you way, yet. Dang looooong drive.

The fishing on the little Salmon River is all combat fishing, which has not attracted us yet. Usually when the Salmon are in Riggins we head over the hill to Hells Canyon for some bass and sturgeon fishing.
